Yummy Mummy offers a variety of classes for moms and moms-to-be
All Yummy Mummy Instructors are certified fitness instructors and/or personal trainers. We follow the guidelines outlined by the Society of Obstetricians and Gynaecologists of Canada (SOGC) and maintain current CPR/First Aid.
All levels of fitness are welcome! Our fitness instructors will tailor the intensity of the workout to help you optimize your results.

Congratulations on your pregnancy! Did you know that exercise during pregnancy improves your overall health? It helps to combat fatigue, reduce tension and stress and prepares you for labour. And of course, most importantly, you will look great as your body changes!
Fit to Deliver is a practical program tailored for different fitness levels and stages of pregnancy. Each class incorporates cardiovascular and muscular conditioning to strengthen key areas affected by physiological changes through pregnancy; essential stretches to reduce common pregnancy discomforts; a relaxation component in preparation for a calm and peaceful birth.
The program focuses on three principles:
Prevention - helping to reduce the chances of back pain, effects of poor posture and diastis recti
Preparation - helps to strengthen the muscles women need in labour and the upper body strength needed for caring for a newborn.
Restoration - if a woman exercises during the pregnancy, she will have an easier time regaining pre-pregnancy shape.

Mommy and Baby Fitness Workout & Play (90 minute)
The Mommy and Baby Fitness program has broken the sterotype of slow-paced, low-intensity fitness while integrating the most recent guidelines from the American College of Obstetricians and Gynecologists (ACOG). This action-packed class includes a variety of innovative and fun warm ups that mom and baby enjoy together. The warm-up is followed by forty-five minutes of fitness that will vary week to week incorporating a large variety of fun, easy to follow fitness for Mom such as low impact, total body conditioning, Mom-bo (kickboxercise for moms), yoga/pilates, step, etc. The workout is followed by a huge repertoire of "infant stimulation"; songs, rhymes, fingerplays, kneebouncers and so much more.
Stroller Fit (90 minute)
Our Stroller Fit class will have you feeling fitter, stronger and more energetic. Getting back into those skinny jeans has never been more achievable or more fun! Stroller Fit incorporates all of the elements of fitness into one great class. Power walking, muscular conditioning, strengthening, stretching and relaxation - much more than just a walk in the park!! All in a supportive atmosphere where you can spend time with other moms lunging, laughing and striding your way to being a yummy mummy. Now with the addition of our Mommy and Baby Fitness programs, Stroller Fit will conclude with "infant stimulation" - babies will delight in our huge repertoire of songs and rhymes and fingerplays, parachute activities, bubbles, birds, grass, each other and so much more!
Indoor Stroller Fit (90 minute)
Our same great Stroller Fit class goes indoors! Using an indoor track and soccer field we will have you feeling fitter, stronger and more energetic. Getting back into those skinny jeans has never been more achievable or more fun! Stroller Fit incorporates all of the elements of fitness into one great class. Power walking, muscular conditioning, strengthening, stretching and relaxation - much more than just a walk in the park!! All in a supportive atmosphere where you can spend time with other moms lunging, laughing and striding your way to being a yummy mummy. Now with the addition of our Mommy and Baby Fitness programs, Stroller Fit will conclude with "infant stimulation" - babies will delight in our huge repertoire of songs and rhymes and fingerplays, parachute activities, bubbles, each other and so much more!
Mom+Baby Hike Fit (60 - 75 minutes)
Join us for moderate level hikes on a variety of beautiful trails in the Guelph, Fergus/Elora and surrounding area. Rain or shine! Some trails will be stroller friendly but others will require the use of a carrier. All hikes will include a printed route handout. Strength training (beyond carrying baby!) will be incorporated on the trail and core conditioning will follow the class where location allows. Moms should bring water, a snack, a carrier, baby and wear appropriate shoes.
Tummy Time (60 minute)
This baby friendly class will help you to retrain your core after the workout of pregnancy and childbirth. Don't have a baby but still feel like you have to mother your partner/spouse/colleague/etc? This class is great for you too! We will use a variety of exercises (abs/glutes/back, flexibility & balance) to help you improve core strength and flatten your tummy. Let's get lean and strong from the inside out. Not only will you have the strength to tackle the everyday tasks of motherhood (and womanhood), but you'll look good doing it!
Fit to be Mom (60 minute)
Fit to be Mom is the perfect solution for moms who have gone back to work or who simply prefer a baby-free workout. Benefit from the continued camaraderie of fellow moms as your instructor motivates you through an intense full-body workout. Class will focus on: cardio, strength, power, agility, balance and flexibility. We welcome moms of babies, tots, preschoolers, school-aged children and beyond. Not a mom but still want a great workout? Have the little in tow? No problem - some of our Fit to be Mom classes are still baby friendly, just not baby focussed. Come on out and join us! You deserve it!
All fitness levels are welcome.
Classes (unless otherwise specified) are baby friendly and allow mom to get a great workout AND attend to baby’s needs at any time.
Women should be 4+ weeks postpartum (6 weeks for caesareans) to attend most classes unless permission has been received from their doctor.
